A 10-litre drinker with a floating platform and a float valve: connect it to a tank and the level maintains itself.
BPA-free food-grade polypropylene, 100 % recyclable. Compact and easy to move from one apiary to another.
01 · THE LEVEL LOOKS AFTER ITSELF
The level stays constant via a float and a pipe: you connect the drinker to any drinking-water tank — an empty honey drum will do — with a 12 mm hose fitting, and from then on it refills itself as the bees drink. That is the difference between topping up on every visit and going when you need to.
02 · THE FLOATING PLATFORM
Inside there is a floating PVC platform that rises and falls with the water: the bees land on it and drink without falling in. It is the piece that separates a drinker from a trap, because an open container of water with nowhere to land drowns bees every day of summer. Cleaning is simple — the design has no corners for algae to build up — and is best done before the water goes stale.
| ✓ FITS | Apiaries with no water nearby, when you want to stop topping up by hand every visit. |
| ⚠ CHECK THE FLOAT | If it jams, the drinker runs dry or overflows. Look at it each time you pass. |
