Details of Division frame feeder DADANT US 4 kg

This frame feeder by ANEL is the cleanest and safest way to give liquid syrup inside a Dadant US hive: it has the shape of a frame and hangs in the brood chamber like any other. Made of rigid food-grade plastic (yellow) with a 4 kg capacity, it keeps the feed at hive temperature and lets the bees feed from inside, without opening the hive or fitting anything on top.

💧 Fills from the bottom up — an award-winning design

Its signature is a central channel through which you pour the syrup: the reservoir fills from the bottom up and does not drown the bees already drinking. This system — invented by ANEL in the 1970s and awarded the APIMONDIA silver medal — is one of the few that fill this way. It includes two floaters and ribbed inner walls so the bees climb up and down without slipping; no need to clear the bees out to refill. Always close the channel window when you finish: if you leave it open, the bees drown.

📐 US top bar, 48 cm (the common one in Spain)

This is the Dadant US version, with a 48 cm top bar — the most common format in Spain. If your hive is Dadant Blatt (47 cm top bar, common in France and Italy), this one will be slightly too long: in that case choose the Dadant Blatt version, which we also stock. It does not fit well if the chamber has frame spacers.

🔄 More than just feeding

Because it keeps the syrup warm, it works very well for stimulative feeding at the start of the season, and the small fill window reduces the risk of robbing. Outside the feeding season it has a second use: placed to one side, it acts as a side partition to reduce the space of a small colony and help retain warmth.

🧼 Easy to clean

Its smooth surface cleans quickly: scrape off the residue and rinse with hot water under pressure (up to 60 °C); a little bleach completes the disinfection between seasons.
