Details of Layens top feeder 1,5L

A 1.5-litre crown feeder for Layens hives. Its shallow format sits above the frames and allows up to two units to be fitted, one on each side of the central bar in a Layens roof.

🍯 Feed close to the cluster

The tray remains in the protected space beneath the roof and keeps feed accessible from above. Its capacity is practical for controlled feeds and for checking consumption without removing frames. Before filling, make sure the feeder is resting securely.

▦ Slotted grid over the feed

The black insert limits the open liquid surface and provides more contained access. It must remain correctly seated or floating: fit it before pouring the syrup and check its position after filling. The grid reduces exposure to liquid, but does not replace regular inspection of the feeder.

⚠️ Levelling and compatibility

Use it with the hive level so syrup does not collect at one end. This model is sized for Layens hives; fit in National, Commercial, Langstroth or other hive formats is not guaranteed.
