01 · THE MATERIAL

Laminated vinyl, not printed paper

The lamination is the clear layer over the printed vinyl, and it is what separates a sticker that lasts years from one that fades in a single summer. It takes sun, rain and the brushes of a car wash.

It is black on clear, so on a window you see the silhouette and not the rectangle.

02 · HOW TO APPLY IT

Clean surface, mild temperature

Clean the area well and degrease it — alcohol will do — because the adhesive grips the car's wax and then peels off on its own. After that it is peel and place.

Two conditions people skip: not in full sun and not in the cold. On hot panels the adhesive grabs before you can position it; below about ten degrees it never really takes hold. Half shade and mild temperature.

03 · WHERE IT WORKS

And where it does not

Any smooth, non-porous surface: panels, glass, a helmet, the migratory van's door or the equipment case.

Where it does not work is on textured plastics and on paint that is already lifting — there the vinyl copies the defect and ends up peeling from the edge.
