Portuguese-language warning sign for the apiary, «Atenção! Abelhas a trabalhar», in yellow corrugated polypropylene, 35 × 25 cm, black screen print, a bee pictogram, boxes to write the holding code and four riveted metal eyelets. Weighs 10 grams.

The same sign we hang in Spanish, in the language of whoever walks past: readable from afar, hung with two cable ties and weighing nothing.

01 · WHAT FOR

Warning before the flight zone

At an apiary by a path or on shared land, the warning goes before the flight line, not on the hive. In Portuguese it serves both sides of the border: in Portugal, and at apiaries in Galicia, Extremadura or Andalusia that Portuguese neighbours walk past. The boxes at the bottom are for the holding code, in permanent marker.

02 · THE MATERIAL

Corrugated polypropylene: 10 grams, not sheet metal

Corrugated plastic, 35 × 25 cm, yellow with black screen print: visible from the entrance and it does not rust, but it is polypropylene, not sheet metal. It takes rain and cold; what ages it is permanent sun, which dulls the ink and makes the edge brittle. In full sun, expect to replace it every few years.

03 · HOW TO HANG IT

Four eyelets, cable ties or wire

Four riveted metal eyelets: cable ties, wire or screw and washer on a fence, post or board, without tightening until the corrugation caves. The sign informs; it does not replace fencing, distances or local obligations.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

The sign alone is supplied; it exists in Spanish, in English and with a CCTV notice.

✕ DOESN’T FIT	A sign for life in full sun: it is polypropylene, it gets replaced.
