Details of Trousers BJ Sherriff original Khaki

Khaki was not an aesthetic choice: it was developed because white glowed under the moon and the bees went for it.

Beekeeper's trousers in khaki from BJ Sherriff, a British family firm making in the United Kingdom since 1968. Available from size S to XL.

01 · THE KHAKI STORY

New Zealand and kiwifruit at night

The colour came out of a specific problem. New Zealand beekeepers pollinating kiwifruit orchards at night noticed that the usual white suit reflected the moonlight and drew the bees towards the beekeeper.

Khaki solved that, and brought a bonus you appreciate daily: stains do not shout the way they do on white. It is the brand's best-selling colour for both reasons at once.

02 · THE SIZES

From S to XL, and no further

The trousers come in four sizes: S, M, L and XL. XL is the ceiling of this reference, so if you need above that, these trousers do not stretch to it.

And a warning that prevents returns: the size of working trousers is not chosen by height but by waist and inside leg. If in doubt — and with British sizing there is doubt — write to us with those two measurements and we will tell you which to order.

03 · WHERE THE PROTECTION IS DECIDED

The ankle and the waist

In beekeeping trousers the two points that matter are the ends: a bee walking on the ground gets in at the ankle, and one gets in at the waist when you crouch and the jacket rides up.

That is why the trousers go inside the boot, or with the closure well tightened, and overlapped by the jacket — never the other way round.

04 · THE BRAND

A British family firm since 1968

BJ Sherriff is a family company that designs and makes in the United Kingdom since 1968. It is a reference brand in the sector for its finish and its fabrics, and its garments are designed to work together.

If you already have the jacket from the same house, these trousers are the natural companion — same colour, same cut and the same way of overlapping.
