Straight 28 cm metal latch to secure the cover and hive bodies during transport. Screws onto wood or plastic and closes by pressure, with no risk of loosening on rough roads. A must when moving Dadant or Langstroth apiaries by truck.
Straight 28 cm metal latch to fix the hive body to a detachable bottom board. Designed for migratory beekeeping and modular bottom boards (LockFit-style), where the body-to-floor joint isn't a single solid piece but a fitting that needs reinforcing before you load the hives onto the truck. One side screws in, the other snaps shut on top.
Snap closure is the key detail: once engaged, it doesn't loosen with road vibration, tight curves or hard braking. If you migrate to heather or rosemary along forest tracks, the straight latch is what stops a hive body from shifting and accidentally opening a side entrance. Same on tarmac — at 90 km/h a loose hive can take several others down with it.
One plate screws onto wood or plastic with short screws (not included), the other lifts and clips down when you're ready to move the hive. Compatible with any body format —Langstroth, Commercial, Dadant, Layens— and especially recommended for plastic detachable bottom boards (LockFit type), where it replaces the original hardware.
