01 · WITHOUT SUN

The battery covers the hours the panel cannot

A solar module without a battery converts whatever the panel produces at each moment: at night it gives no current, and under heavy cloud it gives less. This one stores the energy in its lithium batteries. According to the manufacturer, it supplies current from early morning until late afternoon and can keep it up for several days without sun. This is the manufacturer's statement, not a set autonomy for every installation: check the charge and that it is working, especially after cloudy spells.

02 · WHICH ONE TO CHOOSE

When the battery is worth it

It pays off where the panel does not get sun all day: morning fog, slopes that fall into shade in the afternoon, or runs of cloudy days. If the harp gets sun for most of the day, the 15 W module without battery is usually enough, because the hornet hunts by day, when the panel has light. And if you already have a socket or your own battery at the apiary, the universal module runs on USB and makes use of what is there.

03 · INSTALLATION

It mounts on the harp and powers up to five

It comes with a bracket to fix it to the harp, and current Tártago harps have a mounting point for it. The cable is about 1.5 m long and ends in the same moisture-proof connector used by the other Tártago modules: it goes into the first harp's input, and further harps are chained with female/female extensions. Tártago recommends no more than five harps: the circuit takes more without damage, but with many hornets on the wires or in damp weather, every harp you add takes catching power away from the whole set. Face the panel south with no shade over it: the battery only stores what the panel manages to charge.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

This is the electric module, without the harp. Disconnect it before handling the harp, as with any energiser. It also works with older Tártago harps, but they have no mounting point for the bracket, so it has to be fixed some other way. And check the connector: harps and extensions from 2025 and 2026 have the same one as this module; those from 2024 need an adapter. If yours are older than 2024, ask us before ordering.
