10-metre F/F extension cable to link several anti-velutina harps to the same electrical module. A single source feeds 2-4 distributed harps without efficacy loss. Needed in medium-large apiaries (20+ hives) or under high Vespa velutina pressure. Compatible with Tartago harp and complete kit.
10-metre extension cable with female/female connectors to link several anti-velutina harps to the same electrical module (solar or battery). Lets you cover a larger area of the apiary with a single power source — one solar panel or battery can feed 2-4 harps distributed at the front of the apiary, where velutina pressure is highest.
In small apiaries (5-10 hives) a single harp covers the critical area in front of the entrances. But in medium or large apiaries (20-100 hives in rows), a single harp is not enough — you need 2, 3 or 4 harps distributed. Buying an electrical module (solar + battery + electronics) for each harp multiplies the cost. The technical solution is to link several harps to the same module using these 10 m extensions. A module of suitable power feeds 2-4 harps without loss of electrocution efficacy.
The electrical module (10 W solar panel + battery + pulse electronics) has spare capacity to feed several harps — actual consumption is low (microsecond electrical pulse each time a velutina touches the wires). The bottleneck is physical cabling: the electronics live where the solar panel is (typically out of the way, fixed to a pole), and the harps live where the velutinas are (in front of entrances, 5-15 m away). The 10 m female/female extensions solve exactly that: chain the electronics → harp 1 → extension → harp 2 → extension → harp 3.
1-3 hives in an affected area: one harp is enough. 10-20 hives: one harp covers the front, two cover front + side better. 30+ hives or very high pressure: 2-4 distributed harps make the difference between survival and apiary collapse in autumn. Long-row apiary: one harp every 4-6 hives at most, linked with extensions to a central module. To evaluate if a single harp is enough, look at the end of September at how many velutinas it catches per day — if more than 30/day you are short, install another harp.
