Galvanised steel over-centre latch to join floor, brood box, super or roof. Locks and releases in one movement, gloves on.
Each unit is the complete two-piece system — lever and catch. Screws are not included.
01 · WHAT IT IS FOR
Migrating, working a windy apiary or simply shifting hives around the yard, what comes apart is never the whole stack: it is a super that shifts or a roof that lifts. The lever applies constant pressure without denting the timber and holds through transport vibration.
02 · HOW TO FIT IT
This is where the job is won: offer the assembly up already closed across the two hive parts, mark the holes with the lever in the locked position, and only then screw it down. The central thread is for fine adjustment — timber thickness, how the boxes seat, the slack the latch picks up with use — not for correcting a badly placed hole. If the lever is hard to close, the two pieces are almost always a couple of millimetres too far apart.
03 · BEFORE YOU BUY
It works for floor-to-brood-box, brood-box-to-super, super-to-super and roof-to-super, on Langstroth, Dadant and Layens, shallow supers included, and on wooden or plastic hives alike. The galvanised finish takes damp, propolis and knocks. Choose the screw for your timber thickness: on a thin wall, a short coarse-thread screw, and not so long that it breaks through inside.
