Details of Honey and Propolis Pearls - 2kg Bag

A 2 kg bag of hard-boiled pearls with beekeeper's honey and propolis extract, meant to be repacked into jars or bags.

It is a sweet, and it is best sold as one. It carries real honey and propolis, in confectionery proportions: 5 % and 3 %.

01 · WHAT IS INSIDE

Five per cent honey, three of extract

The list is declared: beekeepers' honey (5 %), propolis extract (3 %) — itself alcohol, honey, propolis at 32 % and rosemary essential oil —, French sugar and glucose syrup. That 3 % at 32 % works out at about 19 g of propolis in the whole bag: it is the resinous note in the flavour, not a dose.

02 · REPACK IT AND THE LABEL IS YOURS

And the responsibility with it

The 2 kg format exists to be divided, and whoever repacks it under their own name becomes responsible for that pack: ingredients, allergens, batch and best-before go on your label. Keep the maker's data sheet in front of you — the percentages come from there, not from memory.

It sells itself next to the jar

It works on the stall and in the shop: honey is what people come for, the pearl is what they leave with. It is hard-boiled and takes handling, but keep it dry and closed: damp makes it cake.
