- Out of stock
Soft honey toffee candies in a 2 kg bag (around 250 candies), cooked in traditional copper cauldrons. Ingredients include glucose syrup, sugar and butter with Noirmoutier salt. A format meant for repacking into small jars and reselling at markets, online shops and other points of sale.
A 2 kg bag with about 250 soft honey toffees, cooked in a copper cauldron, meant to be repacked and resold.
The format already tells you what it is for. Two kilos loose is not a counter treat: it is resale stock. And the moment you repack a food, part of the work becomes yours.
01 · 250 SWEETS, 8 GRAMS EACH
With about 250 sweets in 2 kg they come out at 8 grams apiece. That figure is what lets you work out the format: a 200 g jar holds around twenty-five sweets, and the bag fills roughly ten jars.
From there the margin is a pricing decision, not a product one. It is worth doing the sum before buying the glass, because the jar you choose decides how many sweets go in and what the customer sees.
02 · IF YOU REPACK, YOU LABEL
Moving the product into your own container makes you the one placing it on the market, and the label becomes your responsibility: ingredient list, allergens, best-before date and lot, along with your own details.
There is one allergen that cannot be skipped here: they contain butter, that is, milk. All of that information is on the original packaging, so the sensible thing is to photograph it when you open the bag and keep the picture, because you will need it later and by then it is gone.
03 · WHAT EXACTLY YOU ARE SELLING
The ingredient list starts with glucose syrup and sugar, with salted Noirmoutier butter and honey. It is a confectionery sweet with honey, cooked the traditional way in a copper cauldron, and that is what to tell the customer.
Said plainly, it works very well: a counter companion to your own honey, a small gift, an impulse sale that does not compete with the jar. Presenting it as a hive product, on the other hand, confuses exactly the customer who values your honey.
