The body is 7 mm and the cone 5. They are not the same figure, and on a part a queen goes into, those two millimetres are the whole difference.

01 · BODY OF 7, CONE OF 5
Why the size is critical
The entry cone is 5 mm and the body 7. The cone guides the queen in without forcing her; the body keeps her aligned.
And there lies the balance: a tube too wide lets the queen turn on herself, and turned there is no way to inseminate. Too narrow and it compresses her. The size is chosen for the girth of an adult queen.
02 · CLEAR SO YOU CAN SEE
And how it fits the sequence
The plastic is clear because you have to see the position of the abdomen at every moment. Without that view there is no procedure.
It works with the backing tube and the dorsal and ventral hooks: secure the queen, bring the holding tube up cone first, let her move forward without pushing her, and place the assembly over the CO₂ valve before inseminating. It is a part of a system, not a standalone tool.
