9F Special Super with 15cm Frames

🍯 A shallow format for dividing the crop more precisely

The 15 cm-high frames produce shallower combs. This makes it possible to remove a ripe shallow super without waiting for the volume of a full brood box to be filled, and allows batches to be separated more precisely by forage or date. Do not confuse this special size with a Dadant Blatt shallow super: frame length and bearing surfaces belong to the Langstroth/Dadant US system.

📐 Eight or nine frames?

Choose the version you intend to keep consistent across all your shallow supers. The option selected determines both the number of frames supplied and their internal spacing. Maintaining the same spacing avoids mixing combs of different geometry during extraction and simplifies frame replacement.

✓ Fits: vertically stacked Langstroth and Dadant US boxes with matching frame rests and external dimensions.

⚠ Does not fit: Dadant Blatt, Layens or other frame formats with a different length or top bar.

🔧 Prepare the timber before putting it into service

Dry-fit the super on your brood box and check that it sits flat and every frame hangs without rubbing. If you intend to protect the timber, apply a hive-suitable finish to the outside and allow it to cure fully before use. Store the box raised and ventilated to limit moisture and distortion.
