Apisolis

Apisolis is the French brand —founded by Damien Albrespy, a former tech professional turned beekeeper— that reinvented one of beekeeping's classic tools: the smoker. Instead of burning material to generate smoke, its Origin electronic vaporizer releases a gentle 35 °C vapour that calms the hive the same way — with no combustion, no residue and no fire risk.

The end of smoke in the apiary

Traditional smoke drags two serious problems with it: the fire hazard in dry seasons — to the point where using smokers is banned in many areas during summer — and the repeated lung exposure of the beekeeper to smoke made of half-burnt organic matter. Apisolis solves both at the root: no flame, no ember.

Native Polaris and Native Nova — formulas evaluated by Apilab®

The vaporizer runs on two formulas developed specifically to calm bees without altering their behaviour or contaminating the honey:

• Native Polaris — bio-sourced formula, 2-3 active molecules, 75-85% efficacy. Recommended for routine inspections and docile colonies. Available in 75 ml and 120 ml bottles.
• Native Nova — patented formula, 4 active molecules, 100% declared efficacy. Built for defensive colonies or demanding handling. 120 ml bottle.

Both formulas deliver ~300 inspections per 120 ml bottle and have been evaluated by Apilab®; the 2022 Phodé report confirms that they leave no traces in the wax. The manufacturer recommends a dedicated tank per formula — do not mix — to maintain efficacy.

Using the Apisolis feels identical to using a lifelong smoker: three squeezes of the mechanical bellows and the vapour comes out of the nozzle. Zero learning curve — your hand already knows what to do — but with all the advantages of cold vapour: no flame, no ember, no ash, no waiting for combustion to get going.

Made in France, 100% repairable

The device is manufactured in France and has been designed from day one to be repairable by the beekeeper: spare parts (heating element, tanks, electronics) are sold separately. It is not a gadget built to be replaced every two years — it is a working tool that, with minimal maintenance, carries you through full seasons. USB charging (compatible with any phone charger) and a 2-year warranty upon product registration.

Clean honey, protected quality

Over-smoking leaves residue in the wax and alters the honey's aroma. With Apisolis, the vapour leaves no by-products on the comb or in the jar: honey free of added contaminants and far cleaner wax — especially relevant if you jar by hand and sell through short channels.
