Cappings centrifuge or Spinomel system

A cappings centrifuge recovers honey held in wax after uncapping. It is useful when gravity draining leaves too much honey behind or slows the honey house. The catalogue also includes a smaller centrifuge for lower quantities.

Spinomel combines honey reception with wax separation. It runs slowly during feeding, then performs a faster draining cycle when cappings accumulate. The wax must then be removed from the baskets. Unlike an automatically discharging machine, manual emptying forms part of its operating cycle.

Choose the honey gate by the tank connection

The THOMAS gates shown here have 1″, 1½″ and 2″ connections. Tank capacity does not determine the thread: two 100 kg tanks can have different outlets. Identify the existing connection and how the gate is fixed and sealed before replacing it. The 1½″ non-drip gate, for example, requires that connection; it is not selected by the weight of honey in the tank.
