Professional pollen cleaner manufactured in France by the prestigious french brand THOMAS. Completely made of 304 stainless steel, it allows the sorting of both dry and fresh pollen.
THOMAS professional pollen cleaner: from 50 to over 100 kg an hour, in 304 stainless and on just 70 watts.
It cleans pollen. It does not dry it. Worth being clear before buying, because they are two different steps of the same chain: this machine separates the impurities — bee parts, bits of wax, grit, broken grains — from the harvested pollen. Drying is another operation, with other equipment and other rules.
01 · IT CLEANS, IT DOES NOT DRY
Pollen comes out of the trap at 20 to 30 % moisture and has to be taken down to 6-8 % to keep. That is a drier's job, at controlled temperature and never much above 40 °C, because past that it degrades.
The cleaner comes before or after depending on how you work, but it does not replace either of those. What it does is deliver pollen free of impurities, which is what lets you pack it or sell it in bulk with presentation.
02 · FRESH OR DRY, BOTH
It takes fresh pollen and dry pollen. Not a minor detail: fresh pollen is sticky and many cleaners clog with it, which forces you to dry first and clean afterwards — with the risk of fixing the dirt onto the grain as it dries.
Being able to clean fresh lets you put the product into cold store or into the drier already clean. Capacity is adjustable from 50 to over 100 kg/hour, so it fits the harvesting pace rather than dictating it.
03 · 70 WATTS FOR 100 KILOS AN HOUR
Consumption is 70 W on single-phase 220 V: less than a third of an amp. It is not a mistake in the datasheet, it is the nature of the machine — separating by density and by size does not take force, it takes vibration and a well-directed air stream.
The practical consequence is that you can install it anywhere with an ordinary socket, without thinking about the board. It weighs 96 kg and measures 1,400 × 800 × 1,170 mm, so the constraint is space, not electricity.
04 · THE DRAIN UNDER THE CLASSIFIER
This model has a water drain outlet below the classifier. It does what it sounds like: when the machine is washed, water does not sit in the bottom of the classifier.
On a food product packed for direct consumption, standing water in a crevice is exactly the problem you do not want. Built entirely in 304 stainless steel, French made by THOMAS.
05 · BEFORE YOU BUY
A cleaning step, not a drying one.
| ✓ A GOOD FIT | Fresh or dry pollen, from 50 to over 100 kg/hour, on an ordinary socket. |
| ⚠ IT NEEDS 1.4 M OF LENGTH | And it is 96 kg of machine. The constraint is space, not the electrical installation. |
| ✕ IT IS NOT A DRIER | It does not lower moisture. Fresh pollen comes in at 20-30 % and has to reach 6-8 % with other equipment. |
