01 · DURING TRANSPORT

Ventilation is underneath, where it takes up no frame space

When a colony is closed for moving, heat and poor air renewal are two risks that cannot be seen from outside. The fully ventilated floor maintains a continuous air intake without adding a loose mesh. Even so, it does not replace ventilation in the vehicle: transport in the shade, never leave the boxes inside a stationary vehicle in the sun, and secure the lid and entrance before setting off.

02 · FORMAT

Langstroth and Dadant Blatt are two different boxes

The selector offers one version for Langstroth and another for Dadant Blatt. Choose the one that matches the frames you intend to insert; they are not interchangeable, and this listing does not offer Dadant US, Layens or National versions. If you use more than one format, identify the box before loading it so that you do not discover the mismatch after preparing the swarm.

03 · REPEATED USE

HDF for several seasons, not a disposable box

Unlike a single-use transport box, HDF adds rigidity and allows the nuc to be recovered for further handovers or moves. The upper sections form stacking supports, useful when preparing several units. After each use, remove wax and propolis without soaking the board, allow the box to dry and store it away from moisture to preserve its edges and joints.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

Frames are not included. The available documentation does not reliably state the exact number it holds. If you require a particular capacity, confirm the interior of a unit before ordering.
