Sulphur discs, 5 g each with a centre hole, for winemaking use: sulphuring wooden barrels and casks.
1 kg tub, about 200 discs. Each one releases roughly 9.2 g of SO₂ inside the closed barrel, and the label sets one disc per 220 L barrel.
01 · DIRECTIONS
Thread the disc onto a wire bent into a hook, light it and lower it through the top of the barrel, hanging the hook from the bunghole. It burns with the barrel closed and the burner is removed after 2 hours. The barrel then stays closed until it is filled.
According to the label, it acts against yeasts such as Brettanomyces. Not recommended for containers over 1,000 L, where the gas cannot spread evenly.
02 · PRECAUTIONS
Burning produces sulphur dioxide, a toxic gas. Handling is for qualified staff, wearing gloves, protective clothing and eye and face protection; the disc causes skin irritation. Keep the tub closed, out of direct sunlight and out of the reach of children, in a cool, dry and ventilated place. In case of accident, contact a poison control centre.
03 · BEFORE YOU BUY
This is a biocidal product for professional users only, and its use is the one on the label: sulphuring barrels and casks. Use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use.
