BOX WHEN FULL

Single-wall cardboard box cut for six half-kilo honeycomb-pattern jars, to put together direct-sale lots without the jars rolling loose.

What you need to check is not the box, but that your jar is this one.

01 · CUT FOR THE HONEYCOMB JAR

It is 75 across by 116 high

The space is made for the 0.5 kg honeycomb jar, which measures 75.00 mm across by 116.30 mm high, closes with a TO66 neck and holds 380 ml — about 500 g of honey. Those two figures decide it: a jar of the same capacity but wider or taller either will not go in or goes in and rattles. If you move more volume of the same format, we stock the same box for twelve jars.

02 · IT STORES FLAT

Single-wall board: it groups, it does not cushion

It is single-wall board, the usual weight for grouping and moving, and it arrives flat-packed, so it takes up no store room until you use it. It is worth being clear about what it does and does not do: it keeps the six jars upright and together, stopping them rolling and knocking against each other in the boot or on the counter. What it does not do is cushion — single-wall absorbs little, and with glass inside that difference shows.

BY HAND YES; BY CARRIER, REINFORCED

Do the sum: six jars at 500 g of honey and 205 g of glass each, so a full box comes to over 4.2 kg. For your own round, a fair, a market or a local drop-off, it is more than enough. For carrier shipping it is not: the taping, the drops and the stacking of a parcel network are far rougher than handing something over, and there you need to put the box inside outer packaging and add separation between jars. What breaks things is rarely the knock: it is one jar working against another.

03 · BEFORE YOU BUY

What you get is the box alone, no jars and no lids. And it is worth doing the sum before ordering, because the formats do not line up on their own: the jar comes in packs of 25 and the box takes six, so each pack fills four boxes and leaves one jar over. If you are preparing a season, order in multiples of six rather than by jar packs.
