ApiDana pen-shaped magnetic applicator to pick up the marking plate and set it centred on the queen’s thorax: a plastic body of about 140 × 10 mm with a clip, the weight of a pen. The magnet holds the Magnet Pro metal plates (3320); neither plates nor glue (3318) are included.
With a 3 mm plate the problem is not seeing the queen: it is not losing the plate between your fingers on the way to the thorax.
01 · HOW IT IS USED
The magnet picks it up, the glue fixes it
Bring the tip to the plate and the magnet picks it up and holds it during the move. With the queen held in the plunger cage (205) and a minimal drop of glue (3318) in the centre of the thorax, rest the plate on it and withdraw the applicator. The magnet only positions: what keeps the plate on is the shellac, so wait for it to set before releasing the queen. Clean glue and propolis off the tip after each session, or it stops picking up cleanly.
02 · WHAT IT IS NOT
Not a marker pen, and no use with opalith discs
It does not paint: for marking with colour alone there is the marker pen (1613). It brings no plates and no glue. And it only works with metal plates: the opalith discs in the kit (2759) are plastic and the magnet does not pick them up. With ApiDana Magneto and Magnet Pro plates (3320) it is the right tool.
