Details of JZs BZs Candy Cap with Hanging Strip
The JZs BZs Candy Cap closes the end of a JZBZ queen cage’s candy tube and provides a strip for hanging the cage between frames.
This is a closure and suspension accessory. Prepare the cage and candy separately.
01 · TUBE CLOSURE
Remove the cap to begin candy release
While fitted, the cap prevents workers outside the cage from reaching the candy through that end. When your introduction procedure allows release to begin, remove the cap so workers can eat through the candy and open the passage. Candy also provides food; the time taken to consume it does not precisely measure acceptance or guarantee release within a set period.
02 · BEFORE YOU BUY
Check the cage and receiving colony
Designed for the JZBZ queen cage system. Check the fit of the cap and the strip’s attachment before adding a queen. When hanging the cage, leave its ventilated faces accessible so workers can tend to her. Follow the breeder’s instructions and assess the colony’s behaviour before removing the cap. If workers bite the cage or try to sting the queen, reassess the situation before exposing the candy.
