Pack of 5 silicone cones that slip over the outlet tube of the InstantVap sublimator so the hot metal does not mark the polystyrene, plastic or wood of the entrance during sublimation.
A sublimator nozzle comes out hot enough to melt plastic; the cone insulates between the tube and the hive, and is replaced when worn.
01 · WHAT THEY ARE FOR
When you push the tube through the entrance, the metal rests on the edge: on wood it marks, on polystyrene or a plastic floor it melts. The heat-resistant silicone cone slips over the tube and is what touches the hive; one review uses them precisely for plastic floors. They are consumables: replaced when cut or deformed.
02 · HOW THEY FIT
Trim the cone at the mark and push it over the outlet tube until it seats. The tip must not stick out beyond the tube: if it does, the oxalic acid crystallises in it and blocks the outlet. Check the fit on your model before the first sublimation.
03 · WHAT DOES NOT CHANGE
The cone protects the hive, not the person sublimating: a mask with filters for acid vapours and particles, goggles and gloves remain compulsory, and the oxalic acid is applied as an authorised veterinary medicine, as per leaflet and manual.
04 · BEFORE YOU BUY
Five per pack: enough for a season of treatments.
| ✓ FITS | InstantVap on polystyrene hives, plastic floors or entrances you do not want to mark. |
| ✕ DOESN’T FIT | Other sublimators: it is the InstantVap tube size; check the fit. And letting it overhang: it crystallises and blocks. |
| ⚠ NOT INCLUDED | The sublimator, the acid or the respiratory protection. |
