01 · POWER

Real power: 2 g sublimated in 10 seconds

The difference between sublimating at 230 °C and 260 °C shows mostly in time: those same 2 g take 25 seconds at 230 °C and just 10 at 260 °C. The manufacturer recommends always working in Turbo mode at 260 °C and backs it with its own study, according to which the vapour at that temperature retains up to 73% oxalic acid, with 6% formic acid: heating fast breaks down less of the active ingredient.

02 · BATTERY

No cables, no generator — 18V battery and go

Compatible with 18V/20V batteries from Makita®, DeWalt®, Bosch®, Milwaukee®, Parkside® and other major brands. Range depends directly on amp-hours: a 6 Ah battery covers around 30 hives; 8 Ah gets you to 40-45; 12 Ah takes you past 60. The key is choosing the right Ah for your operation — and that's where the Turbo scales from a hobbyist with 10 hives to a commercial outfit running hundreds. One important note: avoid cheap generic batteries from dubious sources. There are documented cases of fake 8 Ah batteries that couldn't even heat the crucible.

03 · AT SCALE

Professional setup: hundreds of hives without breaking a sweat

There's a persistent myth that battery sublimators aren't built for commercial use. The field data says otherwise. An Australian beekeeper treats 120 hives in 20-25 minutes working solo with 3 Turbos. Two brothers run through 120 hives in 40 minutes with 2 units. No generator-powered sublimator gives you that speed and freedom of movement. The recommended pro setup: 2 Turbos + 2 Parkside® 12 Ah batteries (a quarter of the price of other brands, same performance). While you're sublimating with one, the other cools down and the spare battery charges on the vehicle inverter. No downtime, no cables dragged between hives, no hauling a generator from apiary to apiary. Just 1.25 kg in your hand and the job done.

04 · DISPLAY

LED display with all the info you need

No more guesswork. The built-in LED display shows real-time crucible temperature (adjustable between 230 and 260 °C), battery voltage and a cycle counter so you can keep accurate track of how many hives you've treated. The status LED clearly indicates whether the unit is heating, ready or vaporising — visible even in full sunlight. It also includes deep-discharge protection for the battery, so you won't be caught out mid-round.

05 · THE UNIT

The best of the Compact and the Original, in one unit

Until now you had to choose: the Compact for its ergonomics and stability, or the Original for its display and advanced settings. The Turbo brings both lines together: the robust, easy-to-handle design of the Compact with the information and controls of the Original, plus more power and a wider range of settings. Built from stainless steel with a replaceable brass nozzle, the doser adjusts from 1 to 4 g without tools. At just 1.25 kg without the battery, it's a unit you can carry all day without fatigue.

06 · RESPONSIBLE USE

Responsible use — registered veterinary medicines only

The InstantVap® Turbo is designed for use with registered veterinary medicines whose active ingredient is oxalic acid. Check which ones are authorised for sublimation in your country and use the dose in their leaflet (in Spain, Varroxal and Api-Bioxal powder, 2 g per hive). The use of pure oxalic acid in any form is prohibited in most jurisdictions and constitutes an illegal practice. A gas-protection respirator is mandatory during treatment. Remember that oxalic acid does not penetrate capped brood: for maximum efficacy, treat during periods of little or no brood.
