⚙️ Dual side filters: better balance, less obstruction

Many beekeepers who have used masks with a central cartridge know the problem: the filter sits right in front and, with the beekeeper veil on, it presses against the mesh or the brim. The X8 mounts two smaller filters, one on each side, which distributes weight better and keeps the front area clear. The result is a more balanced mask that does not shift when you lean over the hives and works well alongside most beekeeping veils.

The panoramic polycarbonate visor maximises light entry and provides wide peripheral vision — something you appreciate when handling hot sublimators or pouring oxalic solution between frames. The anti-fog and anti-scratch coating prevents misting from your own breathing and resists wear from continuous use. In addition, the polycarbonate provides impact protection, meeting EN 136:1998 CL.2 certification.

🔧 Silicone + 4-point harness: a real seal

The silicone body conforms to facial contours far better than rigid thermoplastic, achieving an airtight seal that prevents vapour ingress around the edges. The 4-point harness keeps the mask stable and correctly positioned even when you move constantly between hives. The contained weight for a full-face mask makes long treatment sessions much more manageable.

🔄 Filters and pre-filters: what you need and how they fit

The X8 mask is sold without filters, which must be purchased separately according to the level of protection you need. For acid treatments in beekeeping, the recommended setup is: ABEK 1 X703 filter (1 pair), which clips directly onto the mask via bayonet and retains organic and inorganic vapours, acid gases and amines. To add protection against fine particles (oxalic dust, airborne micro-particles), attach the P3 D X7N13 pre-filters (pack of 4) onto the chemical filters using the X501 connector (1 pair). The full assembly is: mask ← X703 filter (bayonet) ← X501 connector ← X7N13 pre-filter. Pre-filters are the fastest-wearing component (it is advisable not to exceed 3 working sessions) and you should keep spares on hand; chemical filters last longer but should be replaced when you detect odour through the mask.
