Pair of Oxyline X501 caps, the part that holds the X7N13 P3 (3176) or X7N11 P2 particle pre-filter over the ABEK1 X703 gas filter (3177) and its siblings X701, X702, X704 and X705. Without it the pre-filter does not stay on: it clips over the filter and stays when the pre-filter is changed. Two units, one each side, for the X6/X7 half masks and the X8 full-face mask.
With gas filters alone it is not needed; the moment you want oxalic dust kept off the carbon, this cap is what makes it possible.
01 · WHAT IT DOES
Holds the pre-filter over the gas filter
The particle pre-filter has no bayonet or thread: it is a disc placed over the gas filter with the printed side inwards, and the X501 cap wraps it and clips over the rim of the filter. Filter to the mask by bayonet, pre-filter on top, cap closing: under a minute, no tools. To take apart, reverse order.
02 · WHEN IT IS NEEDED
When loading oxalic; not for the vapour
The ABEK1 filter only retains oxalic and formic vapour; the dust of the crystals when filling the sublimator is stopped by the P3 pre-filter, and this cap is what holds it. Anyone who only sublimates with the charge ready can go without pre-filter and cap; anyone weighing and loading oxalic or working with suspended particles, with all three. Reusable: when the pre-filter is spent, open, swap the disc and close.
03 · WHAT IT GOES WITH
Oxyline range; bayonet, not Rd40
Over the X701 A1, X702 A1E1, X703 ABEK1, X704 K1 and X705 A2 filters, on the X6 and X7 half masks and the X8 full-face mask (3175). The X70926 ABEK1 P3 combined filters already have the particle stage built in and do not need it. Not for Rd40 threaded masks or other brands’ filters. The set 3173 already includes its two caps.

Two caps are supplied, one pair; P3 X7N13 pre-filters (3176) and ABEK1 X703 filters (3177) come separately.
