The BL1890 is the top-tier battery in the Makita 18V LXT ecosystem: 9 Ah of real capacity (162 Wh), built for working beekeepers who already run Makita tools and want to extend runtime without paying for premium 12 Ah packs.

⚡ Real runtime with the InstantVap — the step between 5 Ah and 12 Ah

With the BL1890 you cover roughly 50 hives per charge sublimating 2 g at 260 °C with the InstantVap Turbo. It sits between the entry-level 5 Ah pack (~30 hives) and the 12 Ah Parkside packs used in pro setups (60+). For an apiary of 30-50 hives it clears the round on a single battery; on larger sites, a second BL1890 charging on the van inverter keeps you working without pauses.

🔧 Makita 18V LXT ecosystem — the investment that pays off beyond the apiary

The BL1890 is not just for the sublimator. Slot it into your drill, the bee blower (Makita DUB184, DUB185Z or DAS180), the brush cutter or the DC18SE car charger. Compatible with every Makita 18V LXT® tool (except the older DSP600/601, DSS611 and DRC200/300 models). The standard 18V LXT fast charger (ref. 194533-6) takes it back to 100 % in roughly 55 minutes.

💡 4-LED fuel gauge and built-in protection

A 4-LED fuel gauge sits on the side: press the button and you know straight away whether it will see another round or it is time to swap. The integrated electronics protect against overload, overheating and over-discharge — the cell will not destroy itself if you walk away with the sublimator on. Self-discharge is 5× lower than the category standard: leave it in the drawer in February and it fires up in September like the first day.
