01 · MATERIAL
2CR13 hardened steel — above 50 HRC
Made from 2CR13 (martensitic stainless steel, AISI 420 equivalent) with thermal treatment that takes hardness above 50 HRC. 2.6-2.7 mm blade thickness: pries propolis-glued frames without bending and keeps the scraper edge season after season. Stainless: no rust from honey house humidity or sugar residue.
02 · FINISH
Mirror polish — easy cleaning
The mirror polish finish is not cosmetic: a smooth surface means propolis and wax do not stick the way they do on a matte or sanded finish. End of the day: a brush and warm water and you are done. No grooves to trap debris — the tool is ready for the next hive in seconds.
03 · DIMENSIONS
Large size — 305 mm of leverage
The 305 mm length is noticeably longer than a standard hive tool (240-255 mm). You feel it in two moments: separating frames stuck in the middle of a super —where a standard tool cannot reach comfortably— and prying the sealed crown board at the end of the season. 50 mm blade width and a 35 mm curved J-hook at the end for pulling nails and hooking under frames.
