01 · WHAT IT IS FOR
The groove nobody cleans
The edges scrape off with any hive tool. What almost nobody cleans properly is the top-bar groove, where the foundation sheet seats and where old wax and hardened propolis build up. If it is not clean, the new sheet does not seat all the way and the comb comes out skewed from day one.
02 · THE OFFSET HANDLE
Not a styling choice
The handle sits off the axis of the blade, and that solves a small, irritating problem: scraping along the frame, your knuckles do not hit the wood. At 180 mm overall it works in one hand while the other holds the frame.
03 · THE TRICK
Scrape it cold
Propolis behaves like chewing gum: warm it stretches and smears, cold it breaks and flakes off. Frames clean up better first thing in the morning, or after a spell in the freezer.
It is a scraper, not a disinfectant: it leaves the frame ready to wire and wax, but it does not replace health measures.
