01 · CAPACITY IS NOT THE KEY FIGURE

Ask about the scale division

A 300 kg floor scale is meant for drums, buckets, sacks and wax blocks, and there it does the job. But the number that decides whether it suits you is the scale division: the smallest step the scale can tell apart.

On a platform of this capacity the step is of the order of 100 g, so it is not the scale for weighing jars or for fine-tuning a dose. That calls for a bench scale with a fine division. Ask us for the exact division if your use is borderline.

02 · WHERE IT SITS

Firm floor, all four corners even

A platform rests on four load cells, and all four have to bear evenly. On a floor that flexes, over an expansion joint, or with one foot in the air, the reading wanders — and that is not the equipment's fault.

The DSF filter is there for exactly that: it damps vibration and interference when a pallet truck is working alongside, so the weight settles. And the indicator wires straight to the platform, with no intermediate connectors, which in industry are the first thing to fail.

03 · IP64 IS NOT HOSE-PROOF

Dust and splashes, not jets

IP64 means dust-tight and protected against splashing from any direction. That is what a honey house needs, with humidity, sugar in the air and the odd drip — and the flat display front wipes clean in one pass.

What it does not cover is a pressure jet. If your cleaning routine involves hosing the floor down, move the scale aside or wipe it by hand.

04 · THE HOLD FUNCTION

Read the weight with the load already off

Weight hold keeps the figure on screen when you take the load off. It sounds like a detail and it is among the most used: weigh the drum, move it away with the pallet truck, and note the number down calmly while it stays frozen.

Over a day of transferring, that is dozens of trips back to the display saved.
