Note: this information is the same as that given in the product's own package leaflet. You can consult it from the "Datasheet" tab. If in doubt, consult your veterinary surgeon.
PLEASE NOTE: We are only allowed to sell medicines to beekeepers registered in Spain.
Manufactured in France to European quality standards by the Véto-pharma laboratory.
The active substance is released steadily over time across the whole surface of the strip, coating the bees by contact. It then spreads through the colony through the constant contact between bees.
Its use during a honey flow is not advised.
FORMAT
Sold in sachets. Each sachet holds 10 strips, enough to treat 5 hives. Dose: 2 strips per hive.
HOW TO USE
The recommended dose is two strips per hive, fitted by inserting them between the frames.
Different placements are advised depending on the type of hive:
In Langstroth or Dadant hives, one Apivar strip should be placed between the third and fourth frames of the brood box. The other strip should be placed outside the brood nest, that is, between the seventh and eighth frames.
In Layens hives it is enough to place one between the fifth and sixth combs, and the other between the ninth and tenth.
RESTRICTIONS
APIVAR is subject to veterinary prescription. As a medicinal product it is not available for sale online, and it is dispensed only to beekeepers registered in Spain.
Data sheet
Specific References
No honey may be harvested while APIVAR® strips are present in the hive. After removing them, the authorised leaflet sets a 7-day withdrawal period before honey can be harvested. The strips must be removed after six weeks of treatment, so schedule the treatment to avoid overlapping the harvesting period.
