01 · THE FORMAT'S ARITHMETIC

370 ml × 1.4 = a little over half a kilo

That is the reason for a size that looks odd. A 370 ml jar filled to its working level comes out at about 500 g net of honey, with the headspace the lid needs to close without overflowing.

Outside honey the A370 is an all-rounder: jams, preserves, sauces and spreads. With one important difference — the glass takes hot filling and pasteurisation, but honey is jarred cold: heating it raises the HMF and costs it its aroma.

02 · THE LID

2,097 jars means 2,097 lids, and they are separate

The pallet does not include lids. The finish is 63 mm Twist Off, and it is worth ordering them at the same time so the glass does not sit idle in the shed.

One warning that saves a returned order: within the same 63 mm diameter there are different finishes, standard skirt and deep skirt. The lid is not interchangeable between them, so match it against this jar and not against another TO 63 you already have.

03 · WHAT ARRIVES AT THE DOCK

Over 330 kg of glass alone

Each jar weighs 160 g, so 2,097 units come to about 335 kg before counting the pallet and the wrapping. That does not come off by hand.

You need an address with a loading bay, a forklift or a pallet truck, or a delivery with a tail lift. Confirm it before ordering: a delivery that cannot come off the lorry goes back.
