Late summer, with the hive light

When you open a Langstroth hive at the end of summer and notice the colony running light on stores, an internal feeder like this one makes all the difference. This PRO-FEEDER frame feeder for Langstroth takes up the exact space of two frames and allows continuous feeding without disturbing the bees or exposing the hive.

The strength of the design shows in daily use. The body is made of ultra-reinforced PP plastic, resistant to impacts, propolis and repeated cleaning cycles. Inside, the Cap&Leader system guides the bees through access tubes that practically eliminate drowning, even when using light stimulative syrups.

The textured walls also do the job

If you prefer to work without the Cap&Leader head, the textured inner walls do the job: the bees don’t slip and reach the feed easily. Cleaning is quick thanks to the smooth interior and removable wooden top.

03 · WHERE IT FITS BEST

Where you want to feed without drawing attention

It performs especially well in growing nucs, weakened colonies after swarming or when boosting the hive before winter. Being inside the brood box, the colony manages it calmly, with less robbing and better temperature stability.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

A note on capacity: the model is sold as 7.5 litres and the manufacturer's sheet states 6-6.5 litres usable. Plan your filling on the 6-6.5. It measures 483 × 80 × 230 mm and weighs 850 g, so you need two free frame positions in the brood box. And the usual rule: do not feed during the flow if you intend to harvest that honey for sale. Taking two positions means a ten-frame box leaves you eight: allow for it when planning the nest. And being inside, the syrup stays at hive temperature, which is what keeps it being taken on cool days too.
