Dadant Blatt Medium Super Frame – Straight, Stainless Wire (47×16 cm)

When you return to the honey room after a strong lavender flow and your medium frames come out intact, without bending, you know the work started long before: with a well-prepared frame from the start.

This model is a straight frame for Dadant Blatt medium supers, horizontally wired with stainless steel. It measures 47 cm in top bar length and 16 cm in height—standard for the Dadant Blatt system used mainly in France and Italy.

Don't confuse it with Dadant US: while both frames are 16 cm high, the top bar is longer in Dadant US (48 cm), more common in Spain or Germany. Always double-check your hive system before ordering.

The stainless steel wire ensures strength, hygiene, and durability, but conducts heat less efficiently than galvanized wire. We recommend using at least a 24 V transformer for wax embedding—lower voltage models (9 V or 12 V) are too weak or too slow.

Tech tip: This is a straight frame, not a Hoffmann type. So you’ll need a spacing system in the hive, like metal spacers on the super or integrated plastic spacers on the frames. Hoffmann frames have built-in spacing due to their shape.
