Details of Portable 4-Stroke Petrol Generator Inverter

The Campeón G950i inverter generator is the portable solution for taking 230 V mains power out to the apiary when there is no grid nearby: sublimating oxalic acid, running a small honey extractor, charging 12 V batteries or having lighting on a long working day. Inverter technology is what sets it apart from a conventional generator — it delivers pure sine wave output, just like a household socket, so connecting delicate electronics such as temperature-controlled sublimators, chargers or medical equipment is not a risk. A conventional generator outputs dirty waveform and ends up frying sensitive circuits.

Real-world power — be honest about your usage. 0.7 kVA continuous (~700 W) and surge peaks up to 0.95 kVA (950 W). It will comfortably run OXALIKA PRO sublimators (360 W), small pumps, chargers and lighting. It will NOT handle large electric extractors of 4 frames or more with 300–500 W motors: the start-up surge trips the breaker. If you work with semi-professional machinery or electric uncappers, this unit falls short — you need a 2 kVA generator or larger.

ECO mode and contained noise. The ECO switch regulates engine speed according to the load it detects at each moment: when you are only charging a battery the engine drops to minimum revs and burns far less fuel. Under light load the sound level is 54–59 dB(A) at 7 metres (89 dB(A) LWA on the rating plate), a discreet purr compared to a conventional open-frame generator. With a full tank (2.1 L of unleaded petrol) you get around 4 hours of runtime at medium load.

Complete control panel. One Schuko 230 V AC socket, a 12 V – 4 A DC outlet for charging car batteries or the auxiliary batteries of your sublimator out in the apiary itself, master switch, oil alert (automatically shuts the engine off if the level drops, protecting the mechanism) and automatic breaker against overloads. The engine is a 4-stroke OHV 40 cc 139F at 5500 rpm with manual recoil start — a well-known architecture with universal spares and consumables.

NOT included: engine oil. Before the first start you must fill the sump with 10W40 oil suitable for small 4-stroke engines. Without oil the "alert oil" sensor will not allow the engine to start, and forcing the unit to run dry is the most common failure on this type of equipment. Buy it separately if you do not already have some in the workshop.
