Metal angle protector for reinforcing the outside corner of wooden brood boxes and supers. It provides a metal bearing point at the joint between boxes and reduces repeated contact between the hive tool and the timber edge.

🔧 A firm point for separating propolised boxes

By placing the hive tool against the protector, leverage is applied to the metal fitting rather than directly to the wooden corner. This helps preserve the edge during routine openings and gives you a consistent working point, although pressure must still be applied gradually and with control.

📐 Fit it to the corners you use

The protector has four fixing holes, two on each face. Fit one to a chosen corner or repeat it on several corners, depending on where you normally separate supers. Use screws suitable for timber and offer up the fitting first to check that both faces sit correctly.

⚠️ Check the fit: hive boxes do not all have the same corner profile. Confirm that the protector sits against a straight, sound edge without gaps or weakened timber. The fitting reduces localised wear, but cannot prevent all damage if excessive leverage is used.
