Thirty-two hexagonal jars of 106 ml in clear glass, with a TO 53 mouth. Low and wide, 55.5 mm tall and 60 g of glass. The lid goes separately.

01 · THE SIX FACES

What the shape is actually for

The hexagon is not only looks: it gives six flat surfaces where a label sticks without creasing or distorting the text, which on a small round jar is always a struggle. Label one face, two opposite or three alternate ones and the jar still reads well from any angle of the counter.

It shares capacity and mouth with the 106 ml Orcio: if you mix both shapes in one set, the same lid serves for both.

02 · THE NUMBERS AND THE CLOSING

32 jars, 30 lids, and a quarter turn

A warning before you order: the jars come in shrink-wrapped packs of 32 and TO 53 lids come 30 to a pack. They do not match on their own — to cap all 32 you need two packs of lids.

When closing, keep in mind that a Twist-Off has no continuous thread: it is four lugs riding up a short ramp, and the whole closing is a quarter turn. Set it down flat, turn to the stop and stop there. Forcing it past bends a lug and leaves the jar impossible to open; and «it went past the thread» is almost always a lid set down crooked, with one lug riding over the ramp.
