Why the two figures differ

The 720 ml is the capacity of the glass to the brim; the 950 g is the honey that fits filling to a normal level, leaving the headspace for the cap. Honey weighs about 1.4 kg per litre, so filled to the brim it would go over a kilo — but nobody fills it that way. With that margin, the Pot-720 is the jar people read as «a kilo of honey».

02 · THE CAP

TO82, and not included

The finish is Twist-Off 82 mm, the most widespread size on kilo jars, and the cap is bought separately — which is exactly what gets forgotten at ordering time. It is the same finish as the 720 orcio, the 720 hexagonal and the rest of the kilo family, so one box of TO82 caps serves them all.

03 · THE PACK OF 16

For short runs

Sixteen units is the quantity for anyone bottling in batches: a small harvest, a specific order, restocking the counter. Each jar weighs 285 g of glass, stands 125.8 mm tall and is 97.3 mm across — measure it if it is going into a gift box or a narrow shelf.

04 · BEYOND HONEY

Jams and preserves

Clear glass and a wide mouth make it practical for jams, preserves and pickles as well as honey. It is the jar you see in any larder: it washes, it gets reused, and it does not force a new cap every time if the old one is still sound.
