01 · HOW MUCH IT REALLY HOLDS

The 212 ml are to the brim: weigh before printing labels

The usual equivalence is about 300 g of honey, and it holds when you fill the jar well up. Leave the normal headspace below the neck and you fall short — some people have found a difference of twenty-odd grams with their labels already printed. That is not a fault of the glass, it is where you decide to stop filling. Density plays a part too, so weigh the first jars of the run and set the declared weight from that.

02 · THE LID IS SEPARATE

63 mm twist-off, four lugs

The jar comes without a lid: it closes with a 63 mm twist-off, which matches the GPI 2030 glass finish and carries four lugs. It is available in packs of 25 and by the box, in several finishes — gold, silver, black, honeycomb, bee image — so the colour is your call and does not make the jar dearer. When closing, turn to the stop and stop: the compound seals against the glass rim, not the force of your hand.

03 · THE ORCIO FAMILY

Four sizes, and only two share a lid

Orcio is a range, and it pays to see it whole before setting up your line: 106 ml with a TO 53 finish, this 212 ml and the 370 ml, both TO 63, and the large 720 ml with TO 82. In other words: combine the 212 with the 370 and you use the same lid for both; with the 106 or the 720 you need a different one. When you buy lids by the box, that difference shows in the order.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

This is a presentation jar: for ordinary half-kilo or kilo packing there are formats that cost less per gram. It works just as well for artisan jams and preserves, and like all glass, order the lid in the same order so you are not left halfway.
