Details of Semi-Automatic Labeling Machine PE-E

Semi-automatic labeller for cylindrical containers: you place the jar, press, and the sensor stops the machine once the label is on.

What you buy here is that they all come out alike. By hand, the label ends up a millimetre higher or a degree crooked on every jar, and that shows on a shelf. The photoelectric sensor reads the label and stops the cycle always at the same point: that repeatability is the product.

01 · THE SENSOR IS THE REPEATABILITY

No crank and no lever: a button

It starts on a button and the sensor does the rest. With no crank to follow and no lever to judge by eye, the result does not depend on the hand working it: label number three hundred comes out like the first.

Changing between formats is mechanical and quick, so going from the 500 g jar to the mead bottle is a matter of minutes, not of rebuilding the setup. The body is PE500 polyethylene, liquid-resistant and easy to clean; worth knowing it is technical plastic and not steel.

02 · CYLINDRICAL, AND THAT IS THE LIMIT

The label needs a straight band

It works with cylindrical or round containers in glass, plastic or metal: honey jars, pollen jars, bottles of mead, wine or oil, and cosmetic jars.

The limit is shape, not material. On a container that tapers or bulges — a crock, for instance — the label only seats on the straight part of the body. Before buying, look at the jar you use and measure that band: it is what sets the maximum label height.

03 · THE BATCH CODER IS NOT AN EXTRA

If you pack to sell, you are going to need it

A coder can be added as an option, printing the lot, the best-before date or the year straight onto the container. It sounds like an accessory and it is the opposite: anyone packing a food to sell it is required to identify it with a lot and a date.

Having it on the same machine saves the separate step of the marker pen or the extra sticker, which is where mistakes creep in and where the professional look you bought the labeller for gets lost.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

Semi-automatic: it puts the label on, it does not place the jar.

✓ FITSCylindrical containers in glass, plastic or metal: honey, pollen, mead, oil or cosmetics.
⚠ MEASURE THE STRAIGHT BANDOn bulging or tapered jars the label only seats on the cylindrical part. That measurement is the maximum height.
✕ IT IS NOT AUTOMATICThe container goes in and comes out by hand. It automates the label, not the line.
