Details of Plastic Box for Transporting Bee Packages

Plastic bee-package box ventilated on every side, with a Ø 10 cm opening in the lid for the funnel and the feeder.

A closed package cooks in minutes. That is why the first thing about this box is not the price: it is that air crosses it on all four sides.

01 · VENTILATED ON EVERY SIDE

Cross ventilation, not a couple of grilles

Bees packed together generate heat, and in a box with no airflow the temperature climbs fast even on a mild day. Here the air crosses from side to side: that is the difference between arriving with a calm package or with losses.

02 · THE HOLE IN THE LID

First the funnel, then the can

The Ø 10 cm opening serves two moments. Loading, you fit the funnel and the bees go in without escaping round the edges; closing, the can feeder takes its place and drips slowly through the journey. Check that it really drips before setting off.

03 · A KILO IS TEN THOUSAND BEES

And this is transport, not housing

Capacity is around 1 kg of bees, some 10,000 workers: the unit you make up a nucleus with, or reinforce a weak one. And the limit: it is a transport container. In the shade, well secured, and the bees are housed on arrival.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

The funnel for the lid is sold separately (ref. HOLT-7450-BR-61505). Foldable and stackable: it stores flat.

✕ DOESN'T FIT	As housing: it is neither a hive nor a nucleus box.
