Professional stainless steel queen incubator: 34.5 °C to a tenth of a degree, humidity regulated to 1 % and room for 220-250 cells.
A fifteen-day cycle, and a two-hour failure ruins the lot. That is why what you buy here is not the heat: it is the stability and the alarms. Double door, interior lighting, OLED display and ports to watch it from a phone or a computer — no gimmick over a two-week cycle.
01 · 34.5 °C AND 65-80 % HUMIDITY
A sealed cell needs a steady 34.5 °C and a relative humidity around 65-80 %. It is not a wide window: swings, even small ones, show up as queens with deformed wings or emergences that never happen.
This incubator regulates temperature to ±0.1 °C with a fuzzy-logic algorithm and humidity to ±1 %, with a solenoid valve that feeds the humidifier by itself. The ventilation spreads both through the whole interior.
02 · EVERY CELL IN ITS CAGE
A newly emerged virgin queen kills the ones that have not come out yet. With 220 or 250 cells inside, putting them in loose means losing nearly all of them: each cell goes in its cage or protector, and there are incubator-specific cages in our range for cents.
That is also why capacity is given as a range: it takes 220 to 250 cells depending on the support you use, because what takes up room is the protector, not the cell.
03 · SEALED CELLS ONLY
The incubator comes in once the cell is sealed and runs to emergence. Before that, the bees raise the cell: there are no nurse bees or feeding here, only climate.
And one handling precaution: a freshly sealed cell is not shaken or knocked during the first days, because the pupa is in full transformation. Move it carefully and set it upright, tip downwards.
04 · THE ALARMS ARE THE INSURANCE
It carries a door-open warning, emergency shutdown if humidity spikes and protection against voltage surges. Over a fifteen-day cycle, any of those three unattended means losing the whole batch.
On top come the connectivity ports to follow it from a phone, a tablet or a server. Not showroom automation: it is being able to check the temperature on a Sunday night without driving to the workshop.
05 · THREE TRAYS AND 60 KILOS
It is three trays of 560 × 370 mm inside a cabinet of 900 × 500 × 750 mm, all in stainless steel, with interior lighting and a double door to see inside without opening fully.
It weighs 60 kg and runs on 230 V. Put it where it gets no direct sun and no draught: the thermostat compensates, but the less it has to compensate, the better the cycle comes out.
