01 · WHAT IT IS AND WHAT IT IS NOT

The framing, before anything else

It is a nutritional supplement, not a veterinary medicine. It does not treat or prevent disease, and it replaces neither an authorised treatment nor a vet's diagnosis.

And one point deserves to be blunt: American foulbrood and European foulbrood are notifiable diseases. On suspicion — sunken brood, the characteristic smell, perforated cappings — what is called for is notifying the official veterinary services, who diagnose and decide the measures. No supplement enters that conversation.

02 · THE ARITHMETIC OF THE FORMAT

When the big container pays

The maker's dose is 150 to 250 ml per hive, so five litres work out at between 20 and 33 hives per container, depending on how much you use.

Below that figure the 1-litre format is the one that suits: shelf life is 24 months and it keeps between 0 and 25 °C somewhere dry and ventilated, but a container left open half a season is not a better buy for being cheaper by the litre.

03 · HOW IT IS GIVEN

The maker's three routes

Sprayed directly onto frames and bees; in syrup, mixing that same amount into each litre of liquid feed; or worked into winter paste, in the same proportion per hive. The maker places it above all after the harvest and as an autumn boost.

The usual caution with anything applied inside a hive: never with honey supers on.

04 · WHAT IS IN IT

Declared composition and origin

The maker declares quaternary benzyl amine, propolis, maltol and cobalt chloride. It is a whitish-yellow liquid with a characteristic smell, and the product is declared GMO-free.

It is made by SC CIRAST SRL in Romania. If you work with certified honey or under production rules that limit inputs, go over that composition with your certifier before using it.
