When colonies are building up and you need to feed syrup and a protein patty at the same time, this ANEL top feeder keeps things simple. It sits directly over the frames, under the crown board — fill it, close up, and you're done. One opening, two jobs covered.

🍯 Dual feeding without the fuss

The central trough holds around 2.5 kg of syrup — enough for a relaxed feeding schedule without constant refills — while the remaining surface area gives you room to lay a protein patty whenever you need to boost brood development, stimulate a young nucleus, or prime a colony ahead of an early flow. Both resources available in a single hive inspection.

⚠️ The float: essential, not included

The feeder does not come with a float. Without one, bees that climb down to drink will drown — particularly with thicker syrups or in cooler weather. The most practical fix: cut a piece of queen excluder to fit the trough and drop it in as a float. Bees grip the mesh, drink safely, and you've sorted it with something you already have in the shed. One thing to check before fitting: your roof or crown board must leave at least 5.5 cm of clearance above the top bars for the feeder to close properly.
