If you run multiple apiary sites or manage a large operation, a short branding code quickly becomes limiting. This 14-character branding tool is designed for beekeepers who need more than a simple ID: batch information, internal references, migration codes, equipment numbering and anything else that keeps a professional operation organised.

Paint fades, plates fall off, markers rub away. A proper burn mark doesn’t.

Long heat line, perfectly stabilised by twin burners

This model uses two perfectly aligned burners to heat a larger bronze block with far more thermal mass than standard irons. You get steady, continuous performance across the full 14-character line.

Ideal for wood, plastic and polystyrene hives, leaving clean and consistent branding on bodies, supers and nuc boxes.

Why all 14 slots must be filled

The head holds 14 characters (30 × 15 mm). For such a long block, every slot must be occupied. Empty spaces create cold zones in the centre and overheated ends, ruining the uniformity of the burn.

If your code is shorter, simply insert blank spacers or dash blocks. Thermally, they matter as much as real characters.

Propane only: butane collapses under load

This torch draws gas fast, which chills the cylinder. Butane stops evaporating at 0 °C, meaning pressure collapses after a few minutes, especially in cool weather. That leads to pale, patchy branding.

Propane keeps evaporating down to about –40 °C, giving you stable pressure and a steady flame throughout long work sessions.

Correct regulator

Requires a 3-Bar high-pressure regulator (16 Bar inlet, ~18 kg/h). Domestic regulators will not heat a 14-character block.

In-apiary use

Reaches working temperature in 5–6 minutes. Stainless base plate shields your hand from radiant heat and the handle’s shut-off valve gives precise control.

Many professionals use it to brand supers by harvest batch or to label Hoffmann top bars for nuc sales.
