Original replacement burner nozzle for ANEL branding irons running on butane or propane, in the three-burner models: it is the part that forms the flame heating the character head, so it governs the power, the speed and the evenness of heating. Heat-resistant brass-type alloy. One unit is supplied.
If some characters brand strongly and others weakly, the problem is usually not the gas: it is a tired nozzle.
01 · WHEN TO CHANGE IT
Yellow flame, slow heating, uneven marks
Three signs give it away: the flame comes out weak, yellowish or dancing without holding steady; the head takes longer than usual to reach temperature; and on three-nozzle irons, some characters brand more than others. That last one is the clearest, because a single blocked nozzle upsets the balance of the whole and the heat reaches the plate unevenly. Before wrestling with gas pressure or changing the cylinder, look at the nozzles.
02 · WHY THE BLUE FLAME MATTERS
The side holes make the mixture
The nozzle has side air intake holes that create the Venturi effect: the gas draws air as it passes and the mixture comes out balanced. That is what gives a clean blue flame, the one that heats fast without sooting the head or stretching the time between marks. A yellow flame is a mixture short of air, and there the answer is not to turn the gas up. It fits the 12-character (217) and 14-character (1079) irons; among the other spares there are the heads (1098, 1099), the forks (1096, 1097), the jet set (2482) and the individual characters (235).
