Each sheet has a photo, a description to identify the plant, its flowering period and a nectar and pollen rating, and the tables at the end sort flowerings by month. It serves two purposes: recognising what grows around you and building a local calendar by noting when things really flower in your area, which rarely matches the book.
02 · WHAT IT IS NOT
An Iberian flora, the mailbox question
It is the translation of the German «Bienenweide»: the selection of species is Central European. Many grow in Spain (limes, chestnuts, brambles, heathers, rape, sunflower, fruit trees), but the Mediterranean scrub species are missing, and one review says it in four words: «plants are missing».
