01 · IT MAKES ROLLS, NOT SHEETS

And that is what flexible foundation needs

The sheet that comes off a single-step foundation station is rigid. To get flexible sheet, the maker considers it indispensable to pass through here first: cast the wax smooth, wind it, and emboss afterwards from the roll.

That is why this machine is not bought on its own: it works continuously with a roller embosser, sold separately. Before deciding the investment, the question to answer is which sheet you want to sell, because that is what decides whether the route is one machine or two.

02 · 20-30 KG ROLLS, WITHOUT STOPPING

They are removed with the machine running

Each coil weighs between 20 and 30 kg and can be removed without interrupting operation, replaced by an empty one. In continuous production that is the difference between stopping for every roll and not stopping all day.

Width is 450 mm and thickness adjusts between 2 and 5 mm. That thickness is what then determines the weight of the finished sheet.

03 · THE THERMOSTAT REACHES 110 °C

But the wax must not go there

The wax tank thermostat runs from 30 to 110 °C, and that maximum is what the machine delivers, not what the product allows. Beeswax melts between 62 and 65 °C and darkens above 85: taking it to 110 degrades it and strips the colour and aroma that sell it.

The working point is far below the top of the scale. And it is worth knowing that the circulating water tank has its own 3 kW heater with no thermostat, so there the control is the operator's.

04 · 2,000 LITRES OF WATER AN HOUR

At 12-16 °C and 5-6 bar

Cooling water consumption is 1,500 to 2,000 litres an hour, at 12 to 16 °C and 5 to 6 bar of constant pressure. That is more water than a single-step foundation station asks for.

Worth seeing before choosing a route: the two-machine path gives flexible sheet, but it needs more water installation, not less. Without flow at that temperature, the closed-circuit cooling unit stops being optional.

05 · THREE PHASE AND SIX KILOWATTS

Between the two heating circuits

The motor is 400 V three phase with electronic speed control. To that you add 3 kW of element for the wax tank and another 3 kW for the circulating water: six kilowatts of heating alone.

It includes automatic wax feed, which is what allows continuous running without hand-feeding. German built by Rietsche.
