Electric board that bonds wax foundation to the frame wire fast, evenly and repeatably. Flexible fibreglass plate adjusts to Zander, German Normal (DN) and Dadant frames (brood and super). Connects to a low-voltage transformer — not included — via the red and blue terminals. Speeds up frame prep before the season.
Getting your frames ready is one of those winter jobs that sets up the whole season: if the foundation sits loose or poorly fixed to the wire, it buckles, comes away or tears as soon as the bees work it or the frame goes into the extractor. This electric embedding board fixes that by bonding the foundation to the wire with heat — evenly and repeatably, frame after frame, without fighting the old spur embedder.
With the foundation already laid over the wire, the board passes low-voltage current through the ends of the circuit and heats the wire just enough for it to sink into and bond with the wax. The fix is clean and even across the whole frame — no slack wires, no scorched patches — which means well-drawn comb and a frame that survives the extractor without the sheet pulling away.
It carries a flexible fibreglass support plate that adjusts to the frame size and holds the foundation at the right height while you embed. It is set up for the most common formats —Zander, German Normal (DN) and Dadant, both brood and super frames— so a single tool covers the different frame types you run in the apiary.
A base of birch plywood and solid timber, metal slide rails that present every frame in the same position, and brass contacts where the wire meets the current. A solid build that turns frame assembly into a quick line: load, embed, remove — ready to prep all the frames you need in one go before spring kicks off.
The board is supplied without a transformer. You need a low-voltage one for it to work: it connects to the red and blue terminals. It is compatible with our electric transformers; for heavy, continuous use, the more powerful the better. If you already own one, you can reuse it.
