Ø 525 MM CONFIRMED FIT | 1000 W RATED POWER |
125 × 1480 MM BAND SIZE | 0–120 °C THERMOSTAT SCALE |
A silicone heating band made to fit the 200 kg stainless-steel honey tank with a 525 mm outside diameter. It applies 1000 W over a 125 mm strip to loosen crystallised or highly viscous honey and make transfer easier.
Herten confirmed that the standard size was too large and adapted this version to the Ø525 mm vessel. That diameter—not the nominal “200 kg” capacity—is the decisive fit check. The dial controls the band from 0 to 120 °C; it does not measure the honey, and the top of the scale is not a recommended honey temperature.
01 · FIT AND INSTALLATION
With the equipment cold and unplugged, offer the band up to a clean, dry metal outer wall. Keep it flat, with no folds or overlap, and close the tension springs without straining the heating body. The 1480 mm version was specified for LTA's M09 200 kg tank with a 525 mm outside diameter; the springs bridge the closing gap, so the silicone ends are not meant to lie over one another. Position it where the wall remains backed by honey, as heating an empty strip of the tank encourages hot spots.
02 · WHAT IS ACTUALLY CONTROLLED
The built-in thermostat controls the heater, while the honey responds more slowly and can be at a different temperature near the wall and at the centre. Use a separate food-suitable probe in the product, begin at the lowest useful setting and monitor both time and temperature. Mix safely when the process permits to distribute the heat. Research on honey shows that higher temperatures or longer exposure can increase HMF and reduce enzyme activity, so 120 °C is the upper limit of the control scale—not a processing target.
03 · REALISTIC PERFORMANCE
Heat enters through the contact zone and lowers viscosity for draining or pumping, but the band does not replace agitation or guarantee uniform temperature. Time varies with quantity, crystallisation, starting and room temperatures, vessel, insulation and mixing. No heating time is published. Stop once the necessary flow is achieved; do not hold a high setting by default.
04 · SAFETY AND BUYING CHECKS
Rated at 230 V and 1000 W, it draws about 4.35 A nominally. The sheet states double electrical insulation and CE marking. Do not use it on plastic, empty, folded, overlapped or damaged. Never immerse any component or seal a vessel hermetically while heating. Keep the process attended, unplug before repositioning and cool before removal. Thermostat, 2 m cable and plug are integral; a honey probe is not listed as supplied.
